(ANSA) – Rome, July 23 – Farmers` association Coldiretti
on Thursday brought dairy cows and pigs into shopping centres
across the country as part of a three-day protest over
foreign products being passed off as Italian.
The cows were brought to “search supermarket shelves
for milk and cheese that are really Italian“, Coldiretti
said, although it did not explain whether the pigs would be
checking whether packets of prosciutto were also made in
Italy.
