(ANSA) – Rome, September 29 – Giuseppe Tornatore`s
Sicilian epic Baaria was picked Tuesday as Italy`s candidate
for next year`s foreign film Oscar.
“I`m very happy but also intimidated…it`s a big
responsibility to defend the Italian colours because every
country is represented by interesting films, there is so much
variety,“ said Tornatore, who won the Oscar in 1990 with

(ANSA) – Rome, September 29 – AS Roma on Tuesday unveiled
plans to build a new stadium on the outskirts of the Italian
capital.
Roma President Rosella Sensi said the idea of the club
having its own stadium, instead of renting one from the city
council, had “always been at the centre“ of her late father

(ANSA) – Vatican City, September 29 – Priests can use
Facebook and other social networking sites to add to their
flocks, the Vatican said Tuesday.
Announcing the theme of next May`s Social Communications
Day, it said priests should “consider new media a potentially

(ANSA) – Rome, September 29 – A `rotating room` built by
Roman Emperor Nero to please his dinner guests has been
unearthed, Italian archaeologists say.
Excavations in the Domus Aurea (`Golden House`) on the
Palatine Hill have revealed remains of a room experts think
is the one described by the ancient historian Suetonius in
his Lives of the Caesars.

(ANSA) – Milan, July 23 – Inter Milan and Samuele Eto`o have
reached a deal that will bring the Cameroon striker from
Barcelona to the Serie A champions, his agent Josep Maria
Mesalles said Thursday after two hours of talks with club
directors.

on Thursday confirmed its BB+ rating and negative credit
watch on Fiat`s long-term debt.

on Thursday brought dairy cows and pigs into shopping centres
across the country as part of a three-day protest over

participate for the first time at CPD Dusseldorf, an
international trade fair for womenswear and accessories, from
